Basic Emergency Management Academy

​West Virginia Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management has developed policy which requires local jurisdiction emergency management personnel who are sub-recipients of the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) complete FEMA's National Emergency Management Basic Academy.

Academy Overview -
The National Emergency Management Basic Academy is a gateway for individuals pursuing a career in emergency management. Similar to basic academies operated by the fire service and law enforcement communities, the National Emergency Management Basic Academy will provide a foundational education in emergency management. 

WVDHSEM intends to provide an in-state offering of the Basic Emergency Management Academy annually.  Please check this page for upcoming course dates.
